Mr Kazimierz Hawthorne Neumann, aka 'Prof' - Who I am and what I try to do.
I am a 58 year old Transman and the Founder and Facilitator of CTSAR Plus. incorporating CTSAR / Cornwall Transgender Support and Resource.
Originally my professional background was in International Sales and Marketing Management (Airlines/Travel &Tourism.)
I have spent many years as a volunteer using my Interpersonal communication skills and other key life skills, along with my training as a Person Centred Counsellor to support the elderly and people of all ages who have physical disabilities, Mental Health issues and specific learning difficulties (SpLD) dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and Attention Defecit (Hyperactivity) Disorder (AD(H)D) both within and outside the LGBTQ community.
My special interest is in the area of Neuro diversity - Autistic Spectrum Disorder (Asperger Syndrome and Autism.) I have been professionally diagnosed as a person with both Asperger Syndrome and Dyslexia, but this does not disempower me - actually I am proud to be different. I identify as 'a non Neuro typical with a 'gift,' certainly not someone with a 'disorder.' I personally dislike the word 'disorder,' it sounds so negative!
Since 2009, I have been on a journey of self-healing and self-empowerment. I engage in what I call my 'Lifes Work' where and whenever I can, which is to raise
'Transgender Awareness.' I have taken this to a National level providing specialised training and consultation for the NHS/Strategic Health Authority,
engaged in consultation/ workshops with NHS England. The objective being that in working in partnership a more appropriate and realistic 'Transgender Care Pathway' will be created and put into practice.
I believe that in my engaging with NHS England and The Care Quality Commission, can help to strengthen the Trans Voice and our Trans healthcare needs and rights.
I am sincere in all my commitments and consciously demonstrate a totally
'pan-equality' approach in all my voluntary involvements. I hold with a statement I made during my time spent as FTM Co Chair (Chairman) of SWTEN/South West Transgender Equality Network and I have made it my mission. I said "Trans people have rights and our own 'unique' voice - I strive like many more of us do, to dispel ill-informed myths and to ensure that our rights are recognised, upheld and that our voice is heard loud and clear."
Although I am registered disabled, I have never been a quitter and I do what I can do, when I can do it for any Trans, non Binary or Gender Questioning person who may seek out help or support.
In December 2010 I launched CTSAR/Cornwall Transgender Support and Resource, simply because there was absolutely no 'dedicated' service provision for the Trans Community in Cornwall - sadly, it seemed we 'Transfolk' in Cornwall were only begrudgingly acknowledged and neither really cared for nor cared about! We needed HOPE!
I am glad to say that CTSAR now CTSAR Plus is a service which has been celebrated in it's launch - it is extremely welcomed and is reducing the feeling of 'isolation and fear' that many of it's Service Users experience.
“Where there's hope, there's life. It fills us with fresh courage and makes us strong again.”
